Our school bus is the perfect basecamp for outdoor adventures. We are a 30 minute drive to the City of Richmond and 15 minutes from Pocahontas State Park. The space
Our fully functional skoolie comes equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, but please read the full description of this space and property to make sure this is the right experience for you!
*Beds*
Comfortable queen-sized bed in the back including all bedding. The couch folds down into a bed slightly smaller than a full size mattress. The bus will sleep 3 comfortably, 4 if you really like each other!
*Full Kitchen*
Gas stove top inside the bus. Pots, pans, plates, bowls, utensils, storage containers, and coffee maker are all included. Small pantry space to store your food. Decent sized RV fridge and freezer. Small kitchen sink with hot water and a 7 gallon water tank underneath the sink.
*Bathroom*
Features a shower with a skylight window and hot water. 15 gallon shower water tank underneath the bus. Nature’s Head composting toilet (sounds worse than it is, I promise) instructions included. The water tanks under the shower and the kitchen sink may need to be emptied during your stay.
*Main House Full Bathroom
You will also have access to a full bathroom, shower, and laundry in a side door of the main house. We encourage you to utilize this space. The owners of the house also use this space but it is closed off from the rest of the house to ensure privacy.
*Heating/Cooling*
Portable A/C and heating unit on bus. Also has a whole bus cooling Maxxair Fan and personal fans. Includes a wood burning stove to keep you warm on those cold nights.
*Outdoors*
Includes a deck with a small seating area, picnic table to enjoy your meals, and a portable propane grill for your use. Enjoy a campfire in the private fire ring. There is plenty of firewood to collect in the woods. Look for the gnome and follow the walking trail from the campsite to explore the creek and more of the backyard.
*Electricity*
While the bus has solar panels and a battery bank to be completely off-grid, it is hooked up to shore power for your convenience. Has USB outlets and standard wall outlets. Wifi is available from the main house, but you may have to be closer to the house for better signal.
Guest access
You will need to drive on grass to access the school bus. Drive up the gravel driveway and continue straight through the yard to get to the campsite. Follow the path lights and arrows on your right to drive through the yard. We would like to be on-site for your arrival to go over the school bus. There is ample parking right next to the campsite. We will be respectful of your space and privacy, but with that being said we like to grill and hang out on our back deck pretty often so feel free to come over and chat.
Other things to note
The interior height of the bus is only 6 feet so please note that it could be a bit cramped for taller individuals.
Dogs are welcome! Please keep in mind that there are two dogs on the property contained to the yard by an electric invisible fence. The dogs are not able to access the campsite. We ask that you keep your pup on a leash unless it is well trained and can stay in the campsite area and away from our pets.
