The bathroom features thoughtful touches like a bidet, plenty of towels, and dimmable lights. A screened porch off the kitchen offers bug-free lounge space near the cowboy pool and tree-lined garden. Work in comfort with superfast Google Fiber Internet and plenty of workspace. A rowing machine and a few free weights and yoga blocks to keep up with your routine.
The bungalow is filled with our art collection and trinkets from our travels. It's a personal home, stocked with everything you need to make a good meal or enjoy a movie night with Sonos surround sound on the wifi TV.
Steps away from the best coffee and bagels, walkable parks, and East Austin nightlife, but tucked away in a quiet and private neighborhood.

Our artistic bungalow is unique, lovingly curated, and in the heart of central Austin. The neighborhood is unmatched–a short walk to the best restaurants, coffee, shops, nightlife and downtown.
The home's calm, modern, cabin vibe has amenities for a friends' getaway or a productive work week. The open plan is filled with art, natural light, and a stocked kitchen. A romantic place with private screened porch, backyard with a view, and cowboy pool.
And it's managed by us, not a corporation.
The space:
The bungalow sits on the highest hill in east Austin in a quiet neighborhood just off the beaten path, surrounded by trees and overlooking a park.
Inside, the bungalow is filled with light from windows that overlook green space. The home is bright with thoughtful lighting throughout. The kitchen, dining, and living area are connected in an open layout that’s ideal for spending time together at the bar or around the table.
The kitchen is stocked with premium appliances and everything you’d need to make a gourmet cup of coffee or a delicious meal. We curate our kitchen to be beautiful and functional and use handmade ceramic dishes, so we ask that some be hand-washed. Please note there is no microwave.
The primary bedroom has a custom-built pine queen bed with a premium mattress, big windows to the garden, a vintage dresser, commissioned paintings by local artists, and open closets for your use.
The second bedroom has a custom-made queen-sized Murphy bed with a premium mattress. The room can also be arranged as an office with a desk, or yoga room, by tucking the Murphy bed away. Instructions on how to customize the room for your needs are in the house manual.
The bathroom is finished in custom Mexican clay tile and concrete walls with simple custom fixtures and dimmable lights. We provide super soft, hotel-quality towels and organic toiletries for your use.
The house is filled with beautiful natural materials and textures: leather sofa and chairs, hand-built and vintage wood furniture, ceramics, antique rugs and pillows, luxurious linen curtains, and linen duvets. These premium finishes bring an extra touch of refinement and luxury, but if earthy textures and natural materials aren't your thing, our home might not be for you.
Outside is a custom-built cedar porch, deck, and garden of native plants. In the backyard, you can relax in the sun on the lounge chairs, or enjoy a meal at our custom-built dining table. You can even use the water rowing machine or tennis rackets that are provided.
The stock tank pool opens for the summer on April 1 and closes at the end of October. Perfect for sunbathing and relaxing poolside, the stock tank is a wonderfully rustic experience unlike other pools: this is a true Texas tradition, sand and all. There is not a fence around the pool but there are floaties and unbreakable bar-wear. During open season the stock tank is maintained bi-weekly by our friends at Cowboy Pools (You might see a pool cleaner during your visit). The front porch has string lights that are on an automatic timer, so you’ll experience a lit-up porch from sunset to about 10pm.
The neighborhood is unmatched, with a walkability score of 89 and a bike score of 90! You can get to anything you need with a short stroll, a scooter, or a ride share.
This bungalow is a serene and peaceful space tucked into a neighborhood and outside of the bustle of Austin nightlife. We know you’ll have a relaxing stay while being as close as possible to the culture that makes Austin so wonderful.
On a final note, this home has been proudly built and maintained by us, Katie and Matt, and our tiny team of dedicated and hardworking cleaners. We aren't a corporation or conglomerate. We know the importance of hospitality and aim to make every stay in our home special and memorable. Guest access:
You’ll have access to the bungalow via the front door’s electronic keypad. We’ll provide detailed instructions on how to operate the keypad before you arrive.
There’s a Dutch door that leads from the kitchen to the screened porch. We ask that you keep the back door locked when not at home.
We keep a locked closet in the Green Room for supplies, and a locked shed in the back yard.
Other things to note:
The bungalow has some personal items in it that are very special to us and we trust our guests to take care of our home as if it was their own, because we believe this makes for a better and more unique stay.
Our home is not childproof: there are many breakable items within reach and a stock tank pool that is not gated. If you have children we ask that you take extra care during your stay.
The stock tank pool is not like a traditional pool: it is rustic and comes with some unavoidable dirt. It is cleaned regularly but if you’re not comfortable with this wild-west nature it might not be for you. The pool is open seasonally: ask ahead about availability if this is a core interest for your trip.
We live here with our dogs when we’re not renting the bungalow on Airbnb. We do our very best to make the space clean for your stay and want you to know in case you have allergies. We don’t allow pets for rentals.
