Summary: Our anniversary weekend began well. It's typical for a hotel/rest. etc to do something special if you let them know ahead of time about it. the Kenwood Inn did nothing special not even a card. That was disappointing but it was a precursor as to all the details they miss along the way that could make this a stellar b and b. Initial greeting was adequate. A fast rundown of details that neither of us could remember except the time of breakfast. I noticed the rug at entrance needed a good cleaning & decor just seemed tired. Our room was small with 2 chairs stuffed in and no room to open a suitcase even though 2 luggage racks were supplied. The toiletries were substandard and not enough towels were provided. The inn was freezing at all times and there was no ability to change it so we had to keep the porch door open which led to humidity issues. I dropped my eye drops and it rolled under the sink credenza. It was filthy and clearly had not been cleaned in months. Breakfast was overdone. No simple fare just a fancy 3 course breakfast that we opted out of after1st day. Shrimp and grits at 830??? No thank u. You had to get your own coffee inside & carry it out to your table. Crazy. No oat milk available. Sugar kept open in a drawer in the credenza where the coffee was served. Rug on stairs was filthy &in need of a deep clean. Top strip was a trip hazard as it had peeled away. Used mugs were not picked up by the housekeeper and instead left in the room.disappointed. we won't be back.
